Hunter's Bump Explained

I happened to be puttering through our Twitter feed and came upon this tweet to an article about Hunter's Bump. It's what Dude has. Although the pictures in the article aren't anything similar to what Dude looks like, it's still a very interesting read.

Unfortunately for Dude, his Hunter's Bump makes one hip compensate for another so he's crooked in the back end. I've done some research and asked vets and there's really no solution to the issue. That's why Dude, although not old following our Sanctuary guidelines, is a permanently retired horse and no one is allowed to ride him. Dude might not be old but he IS considered one of our special needs horses due to his health issues.
